What is Duncanville Early Childhood PTA?
Duncanville Early Childhood PTA (DECPTA) is a non-profit community wide organization that has been serving the Duncanville area for more than 35 years. Our group is dedicated to providing information and support to parents and care givers of children from birth through age 5. We have a wide variety of educational and entertaining programs.
DECPTA is involved in many community service programs. We screen approximately 500 preschool children annually for Vision and Hearing. We assist the Duncanville Police Department with their Teddy Bear Patrol and Stranger Danger Programs. DECPTA has been involved with the public library, building of Kidsville, donations to the Crises Pregnancy Center, and more.
Letter from the President - DECPTA Board Members - Objectives of the PTA
Letter from the President
To Our Readers,
Duncanville Early Childhood PTA had a great summer with a wonderful planning retreat for our board members and many fun activities for the children! We enjoyed skating, swimming, and our first board meeting for the year was at a park! In August, we had a watermelon social at Armstrong Park.
We are looking forward to the 1998-1999 year! We'll be meeting in a new location (Trinity United Methodist Church @ Clark Road and Danieldale on the second Friday of each month with coffee at 9 a.m.)! We have a great team of veteran board members as well as some brand new board members, so we are excited about the fresh, new ideas and possibilities for the year!
If you know of anyone who has children birth through five years, please tell them about our group! Word of mouth is the best way to let people know of our existence! We have interesting, relevant topics and speakers, wonderful field trips, and we are true supporters of young children and their parents. Tell someone you know about us, or come check us out yourself!
Sincerely,
Angela Fineout
